Company Founding
Carmody Roofing and Sheet Metal started in 1974 and was incorporated in 1980. Old-time friends and colleagues Timothy H. McCutcheon and Jim Carmody partnered to build the successful business. Tim managed the installation and upkeep of the roofing, spending many a day estimating, purchasing materials, planning jobs and supervising teams on area rooftops. Jim preferred the view from his office and skillfully the handling the business side of things.
In 1999, when Jim Carmody passed away, the McCutcheon family carried on the business and kept the Carmody name to honor the memory their friend and company co-founder.
For many years, Timothy H. McCutcheon was the heart and soul of Carmody. He treated his clients, vendors, colleagues and employees with unending respect. Even today, no matter where you go, someone will remember him and can tell you a story about his kind heart and how he would literally give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

Today’s Leadership
Today, Tim’s son, Timothy J. McCutcheon is pleased to lead the company. As president and owner, he oversees general management of the company including supervision of RFPs, site/project management, estimating, new business development, quality control, staffing, certifications, material procurement, financials and marketing.
Tim has been with Carmody for approximately 5 years in a number of roles. Prior to that, he spent several years in the construction field learning as much as he could about the building trade and roofing, in particular.
Previously, Tim was Manager of Hill Crest Automotive (Java) and spent 18 years in the construction industry at Raymond E. Kelley, Fisher Concrete and Concept Construction. He graduated from Holland High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Erie Community College (1999).
The Team
Tim is fortunate enough to be supported by long-time Carmody employee Ken Price, who serves as the Superintendent. Ken has been with the company since 1981. Forest Davies, hired in 1995, serves as Field Supervisor and Tim’s mom, Mary McCutcheon, has managed the office since 1999. She served as President, running business affairs after Timothy H. McCutcheon retired.
